Church Banner

I was asked to create a larger banner design for “Christian Life Church” of Murfreesboro, Tn. The banner was needed to promote some upcoming children events. The client wanted the design to be colorful, easy to read, and feature kids playing a common activity.

The time I was given to work on this project was very limited, so drawing up a vector scene was pretty much out of the question. I didn’t want to use an illustration that looked like it had been rushed. Instead I visited some stock images websites and found some images that seemed to go well together. All together I think I used around 7 vector based images.

When working with stock imagery a lot of time is spent finding images that work well together. Piecing them together can be quite time consuming as well. Other things to consider are typography, changing colors to match, and editing the vector points to suite the design.

This project was unusual because most of my print designs don’t include this much stock imagery. When ever possible I try to include original artwork in my designs. However projects with tight deadlines require a different approach.

After a couple of revisions with this design, I received the thumbs up from the client. They were pleased with the final result. The banner was printed and displayed in time to promote their event.
